SUSPENSION PERIOD FOR EXCESS YARD/GARDEN DEBRIS
Posted on: 2018-04-10

Reminder!

The suspension period for excess yard & garden debris went into effect on Monday, April 9.

What this means is that drivers will not be collecting yard & garden debris (placed beside carts or at curbside) when emptying compost carts until after Spring Cleanup is complete.  Excess household organics (i.e. kitchen scraps) will be collected, but not garden and yard material such as leaves, twigs, branches, etc.

During Spring Cleanup, which begins on May 7, there is no limit on the volumes of yard and garden debris placed out for collection.  Information and guidelines on Cleanup can be found here.

Island-wide Spring Cleanup Schedule

Material must be placed curbside by 7:00 a.m. on the following dates.  Pickup is not always on your regular collection day.

Yard Debris........................... Monday, May 7

Waste...................................Monday, May 14
