Customers living in rural areas, and especially on private and/or unpaved roads are reminded that trucks may be restricted at some times of the year if road conditions are not suitable for heavy vehicles.  The road must be unobstructed, accessible, and the turning area needs to be wide enough for trucks to provide continuous service without having to have the vehicle reverse out.  In addition, the road surface must be relatively smooth (no large potholes or extreme muddy or icy conditions) with surface strength to accommodate the truck.  During winter, snow must be cleared and roads sanded or salted to provide traction for vehicles.

Waste collection vehicles must follow spring road restrictions posted by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

If road access is a problem at certain times of the year, IWMC suggests that carts and/or blue bags be placed at the closest serviceable road by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.  Please feel free to contact IWMC to discuss options.
